Every new chat starts from nothing. It is like sliding your question under the door of a dark room. Whoever is in there is brilliant, but they have never met you, they cannot see you, and they have no idea why you are asking. So you get an answer written for anybody, which is another way of saying it was not written for you.

What is Tessera?
Tessera is a private AI memory app for your iPhone and your browser. It gives AI a memory of who you are. Is Tessera itself an AI?
No. Tessera is a memory layer, not an AI. It works with several leading AI models and gives them your context when you chat. Think of it as the layer that knows you, sitting between you and whichever AI is best for the question you are asking.
Do I need to be technical to use it?
No. If you can use a messaging app, you can use Tessera. There is nothing to configure and no special way you have to phrase things. The whole point is that good answers stop requiring skill.
Who can see my memory?
You, in full. Your memory opens like a settings page, so you can read every line, change any of it, or delete it. When you chat, only the pieces relevant to your question are shared with the AI answering you, on business tiers where conversations are not used to train the models by default.
Does the AI company know who I am when I use Tessera?
No. Your question reaches the AI model with no name attached, no email address, and no account for it to file the answer under. Tessera holds your identity and the model does the thinking, so the model cannot recognise you tomorrow because it never knew you today. How that works.
What if I want something forgotten?
Open your memory, find the fact, and delete it. To remove all of it, delete your account and everything goes with it. You can request a full copy of your data first. Deletion is real deletion, not a hidden archive.
