A memory that belongs to you, not to a model.
Tessera is made by Authority Index Labs, an independent company in the United States. We are not owned by, funded by, or tied to any AI provider, which is exactly why the product can work across all of them.
Tessera is a private AI memory app. It is not an AI itself. It is the memory layer between you and whichever AI you use: it remembers the details of your life and brings that context into every conversation, so the leading AI models start out already knowing you. You can see, edit, export, or delete anything it remembers.
Why we built it
AI got extremely good at answering questions and stayed strangely bad at knowing who was asking. Every conversation starts over. You explain your situation, your constraints, your family, your work, and tomorrow you explain all of it again to the same product.
The usual fix is for an AI company to keep notes on you inside its own product. That solves the repetition and creates two new problems: you cannot see the whole of what it decided to keep, and the moment you use a different model, none of it comes with you.
So we built the memory as its own layer. It sits on your side of the conversation, it is readable line by line, and it goes with you to whichever model is right for the question in front of you.
What we believe
- A memory of your life should belong to you. Visible, editable, exportable, deletable. Not a black box, not an archive you cannot open.
- Nobody should have to be good at prompting. If getting a useful answer requires technique, the product is unfinished.
- Privacy is structural, not a setting. No ads business means no incentive to know more about you than the product needs. That is a decision about the business model, not a checkbox in preferences.
- No single model wins everything. Different models are better at different questions, and lock-in serves the provider rather than you.
Who makes it
Authority Index Labs, Inc. is a Delaware C corporation based in the United States. Tessera is our consumer product. We are independent of every AI provider we route to, and we make money one way: subscriptions.

Where the name comes from
A tessera is one small tile in a mosaic. On its own it is a single fact. Enough of them, arranged, and the picture is a person. That is the whole idea of the product in one word, and it is why the site is full of little squares.
Note on the name. There are several unrelated products called Tessera. This one is the private AI memory app at your-tessera.com, made by Authority Index Labs.
