How it works

Four steps, in this order, and the order is not optional.

1. Sign up for a Tessera account

Creating an account is free and we do not ask for a card to do it. You also do not have to be a paying subscriber to take part: you can sign up, join the program, and earn on the people you refer without ever buying a plan yourself. You do need an account, because the program runs inside it.

2. Set up payouts

You verify your identity and tax details with Stripe, who handle the money. This comes before your link because your referral link is only created once Stripe has verified you, which means commission can never build up for someone we have no way to pay. Stripe collects your bank and tax details directly. Tessera never sees them.

3. Accept the program terms

A short, recorded acceptance of the referral section of our Terms. One thing in there is worth knowing before you agree: if you promote your link publicly, you have to say that you are paid a commission. That is a legal requirement rather than our rule.

4. Share your link

You get a link and a short code. The link is the easy path. The code exists because tracking behind a link can quietly miss on iPhones, and a code can be read aloud or typed by hand, which is why its characters avoid the ones people mishear.

What you earn

10% of what we actually receive from a referred subscription, for that person's first year.

The words "actually receive" are doing real work there, so here is the plain version. When someone subscribes through an app store, the store takes 15 to 30% before anything reaches us. Payment processing and tax come off too. Your 10% is calculated on what is left, not on the sticker price. We would rather say that here than have you work it out from your first payment.

Why the US only, for now

Our payment approval covers US recipients. Someone outside the US can begin payout setup, but Stripe will ask for details they cannot provide, so it cannot be completed. We would rather tell you that on this page than after you have handed over a passport. Wider payouts need a different product and a separate approval, and that is not something we can promise a date for.

Who this suits

People who already talk about the tools they use, and would rather be paid for a recommendation they were going to make anyway. It is not a get-rich scheme and we are not going to pretend otherwise: the maths only works if the people you send actually stay, which means it works best when you send it to people it genuinely fits.

What we ask

Say you are paid a commission when you promote it. Do not describe Tessera as something it is not, which mostly means not calling it an AI. It is the memory layer between a person and whichever AI they use. Beyond that, describe it however you actually experience it.
